Shree Beereshwar Sahakar Sangh Niyamita Takes the First Step: Pigmy Collection Goes Digital in Hubballi
Shree Beereshwar Sahakar Sangh Niyamita, a cooperative society (Sahakar Sangh) in Hubballi, Karnataka, has moved its daily Pigmy collection fully digital with ezPigmy. Field agents at the sangh received their new ezPigmy collection devices this week, replacing manual passbook-based collection with UPI payments, instant receipts, and real-time tracking.
What's Now Live at Shree Beereshwar Sahakar Sangh Niyamita
Daily Pigmy collection has traditionally run on paper — a field agent collects cash door-to-door, writes it into a passbook, and carries the day's cash until it's deposited and reconciled back at the branch. Every step in that chain depends on the agent's memory and handwriting, and management only finds out what actually happened at the end of the day, or later. Shree Beereshwar Sahakar Sangh Niyamita has now replaced that process with ezPigmy's Pigmy Collection Machine and its digital collection platform.
What Changes on Day One
- UPI collection (Dynamic QR) — every customer gets a unique QR code for their own collection, so payments go straight from the customer's phone to the sangh's account with no shared or static QR to reconcile.
- Instant SMS & WhatsApp receipts — customers get a confirmation the moment an agent records a collection, with the amount, date, and agent name.
- Thermal receipts — agents print an instant paper receipt on the spot, alongside the digital record.
- Real-time sync & audit trail — every collection syncs to the sangh's cloud dashboard as it happens, with offline transactions queued and synced automatically once the agent is back online.
- Collection Sessions — managers open and close each agent's collection round from the portal, so every rupee collected is tied to a session the office can see and close out the same day.
- Kannada-language support — the app and customer communication work in Kannada, so agents and customers aren't working around an English-only interface.
Why Cooperative Societies Across North Karnataka Are Watching
- Cash sitting with an agent overnight is a standing risk with manual collection — digital UPI collection and same-day session closing remove the need for an agent to hold a full day's cash.
- Paper-only disputes are hard to resolve — a passbook entry is one person's word against another's. A synced, timestamped digital record settles it in seconds.
- Monthly manual reconciliation eats staff time — ezPigmy's dashboard gives the office a running, always-reconciled total instead of a month-end scramble.
- Audits that rely on memory and handwriting are slow and error-prone — a complete digital audit trail means every transaction is there to review, any time.
From Dharwad and Belagavi to Gadag, Haveri, Bagalkot, and Vijayapura, cooperative banks and Sahakar Sanghas across North Karnataka are asking the same question Shree Beereshwar Sahakar Sangh Niyamita has already answered: what does it take to bring Pigmy collection into the digital age, in Kannada, without disrupting the doorstep relationship agents already have with their customers?
